Question Box types

At the hardware store I noticed a variety of differnet types of electrical boxes. I saw the familiar metal boxes, but also the blue plastic boxes. For general purpose house basement outlets and recepticals, do you pros have a preference ?

For economical reasons, I would say plastic. They are all big and roomy(no sharp edges), no ground connection to make and no clamps to tighten, so there is less labor. And they cost less.

Plastic. They're cheaper, less labor and quite durable.

I'm no pro, but I'll certainly add my 2 cents.

I'm about halfway through a remodel on my small ranch. I started out as a firm believer in using 4x4 boxes with mud rings. That's what I've used on all the walls I've opened up so far. A few weeks ago I started working in a few rooms that I'm not planning on removing any sheetrock from, so I used the blue "old work" boxes. These things are awesome! I'm now to the point where I'm sure I'll be using the plastic for the rest of the house.
