gfci problem
I am replacing an outlet in my kitchen with a gfci outlet - i connect the white wire to the silver screw (line) and the black wire to the bronze screw (line). Turn the circuit back on, plug something in, nothing. I use a tester to probe the outlet, nothing - but if i put the tester on the screws themself, it lights up. I try another (new) gfci outlet - same thing! I tried going into the back of the gfci instead of around the screws, same thing. I try a regular outlet again instead of the gfci, and it works fine. Any ideas???? thanks!
