Question just wondering

Do florestent light ballast use watts if the bulbs are burned out ? or is it just like an incondecent bulb, cir. it broken so zero watts used.

No sure answer....depends. Some fixtures have the bulb in series with the ballast, some use other designs. You would have to have a wiring diagram of the ballast iteslf to know for sure. One way to tell is if the ballast feels warm with bulb bad. Some lamps have a preheat filament, so in most cases, at least that much current would continue to flow even if the arc did not strike. Again, you need a schematic for that balllast. Manufacturers like Advance Transformer and Magnetek have wiring diagrams available on their websites.
