The hum, could be the prelude to a fire.

Electrical systems will make a humming noise when overloaded. I suggest that you do two things.

Manually flip the breaker for the range off then on. It may be sticking. Then post the brand of the panel. Some breakers are known for not tripping, and the humm could be an indication of a defective breaker.

Call an appliance repair man. Electricans specialize in the homes wiring. Wiring that is internal to equipment is a different speciality.

I's also suggest if you have access to an Amprobe you check the amp draw.

WOW- thanks jwhite!!
I did turn the oven on again later, it made a hum noise for maybe 3 min, then it stopped...I just recently replaced both elements in it...I wonder...could there be something loose?...I will check the breaker too though...maybe its time for a new oven!!

Thanks
