Outlets work but nothing that is wired direct

I was laying in bed and noticed the fan was slowing down but the TV was still on. Everything wired to a light switch is not working but the outlets are. Checked breakers inside and out and all are on. Anyone have this problem. Worried about a short or worse a fire happening........TIA

Power just came back but the lights were extremely dim. Also, it looks like my house is the only one being affected. Neighbors look fine.

You have a failed/poor connection in that branch circuit. Turn the breaker off that controls the problem circuit. Identify everthing on it by what quits working. Then start checking for suspicous connections in all the boxes. Make sure the wires on any back stabbed switches or receptacles are moved to the screws or if backstabs and screws are both used up then use wirenuts instead of the backstabs and pigtail to the screws. Turn the breaker back on and see what happens over time.
