colored wires for ceiling fan, one too many?

Have removed the ceiling light and will now a New ceiling fan with light.
The 3 wires in the ceiling are:

-red , -white, and a -copper ground ..,

The new fan has a total of 4 wires:
-white and -solid black, -black/white stripped wire and a -green wire ( cut away for eventual wiring together) that is 'screwed' into the top and bottom of these two ceiling fan pieces ( ground?) ..

Obviously the white wires can go together but what about the others here?

should the stripped go to the RED? and the solid black to the copper ??

nothing in the instructions about this, the instructions just presume you have the same amount and colored wire already in place.

The copper wire in the ceiling is a ground wire. Never connect this to anything except a ground wire. The green wire in the fan/light is the ground.

The black wire and the black with white strip wire are for the fan and the light. There are two wires so they can be controlled separately. Connect the black ceiling wire to both of these wires.

The white wire in the ceiling and the white wire in the light are the neutral. Connect these together.

Box ----Fan
White - white
Red - Black and BlackWhite
Bare Copper - Green

Unfortunately, you will control both the light and the fan with the on-off switch and the pull chains. This could be changed if you replace the wire in the wall.

Weird that there is only a red for hot. Check the ceiling again for a black.

I suspect that there is a black wire in the ceiling and that Todd did not provide us a complete inventory of the wires available.

The fan has a chain switch to turn on the light or the fan I guess.
