Running cable behind shower wall

Is it permissible to have a power cable run in the wall behind the shower wall?
I have the wall open to replace the sheetrock and it will be a good opportunity to run a cable from the basement below, to the attick above for a future project.
Thank you
Jerry

Yes. There is nothing wrong with this.

Since the wall is open and you can easily do this, just keep the cable away from the water pipes.
