Fish Tapes

I am trying to run a horizontal run about 15 ft between floors. Lots of stuff in the way. I am using a 20 ft Gardner Bender fish (1/4 inch) and am wondering if maybe I should rent another if some are stiffer than others or is it time to cut the ceiling sheet rock at the half way point.

Is the ceiling strapped? if not, cut holes. If yes, make a tight hook on the snake, tape it. Then make a slight "offset" in it. Push gentley, when it stops, give the snake a "flip", then push some more.

This is an art, and takes time to perfect. Even then..... You must brush up on some bad words, and mummble them under your breath. (This helps me).
