2 AWG Aluminum

I was given a partial spool of aluminum wire :
ALCOA EXCELLOY 2AWG AL COMPACT 600V XLP type use or RHH or RHW (UL)

I was wondering what the typical use for this wire would be.
I was concidering possibly powering a subpanel with it.
Generally speaking, how big a panel would this typically power up?
Can it be run in conduit to a detached building?

Until now, I have only used copper, but with the current prices out there...WOW my chin hit the ground. I may have to become more resourceful...
Thanks, Jeff

That wire is part of cable type USE which is used for 100A underground services. If your jurisdiction allows the use of table 310.15(B)(6) for subpanels, then you may use it for a 100A subpanel feeder. If they don't allow use of that table, the wire is good for a 90A subpanel feeder. It may be used underground in conduit or directly buried in a trench.
