Refigerator - Capacitor, start and overload relay combination

There is a device is sometimes called a hard start pack.
It is a self contained solid state device that takes the place of the normal
relay and overload mounted inside the terminal cover on the side of the
refrigerator compressor or sometimes on the fridge chassis.
The hard start pack also has a capacitor.
This unit can be used on split phase motors.

This device is to be used on a domestic refrigerator (westinghouse 381 Freezamate about 400L) which the start relay and overload relay are dead.

I have not been able to find these devices in Australia so I am hoping someone can give me enough info to allow me to construct such a unit.

C ant you find them on the web . They have to fit the HP of the compressor that it goes on. Any AC supply house down there should have them.
Might try here also.

I am sure this is kinda common with central and large window A/C use the hard starting relay but for resdentail refidgeator i think they should have something in the appalince centre or HVAC centre.

check with your fride manufacter i think they might have a kit for it as well

Merci , Marc

A relay overload combination and a hard start kit are two different devices.
A hard start kit is a start capacitor and solid state relay that connect across a run capacitor, usually on an airconditioner.
A relay overload combination replaces a starting relay on a refrigeration compressor either with or without a start capacitor.

I cannot imagine out of what you would build this.
Are you not able to just order a replacement relay and overload?
