Grounding Question
I have two circuits: an existing 15A circuit with 14-2 wire without ground, and a new 20A circuit with 12-2 wire with ground. Say I want to rewire some of the outlets on the 15A circuit so that they may be grounded, without rewiring them all the way back to the panel. Is it permissible per code to have both circuits go to a junction box and then have them share the same ground wire (keeping the hots and neutrals separate, of course)?

No you can't
But if all you do is replace the exising ungrounded recs with grounded recs, you can run a single grounding wire all the way back to the electrical panel and tie it in there.
My question is why bother. If your wiring is in need of upgrade, then upgrade it.
