Recepticles out...

Greetings - When we bought our home someone had a new fusebox put in as well as new sockets throughout the basement.
The other day a row of the plug sockets in the basement went out and no fuse has been tripped.....
Where do I start on this one?
Thanks!
JB

Receptacles

You say yoiu have fuses. Do you mean circuit breakers? If you have circuit breakers, reset the breaker for the problem circuit by turning it off and then on. Breakers sometimes look like they are not tripped when in fact they are.

Red face

Oops - yes, we have circuit breakers...
I had tried flipping them once before, maybe I missed the right one though they appear very well marked....
Will try that again....
Thanks!

Look hard for GFI receptacle - sometimes they are put somewhere you would not suspect, especially in a basement.

Thumbs up

BINGO!
That was it - there are about 6 outlets along this one line, all but one behind 'stuff' - kept checking and checking, almost didn't bother with the last because none of the others (working toward the circuit box) had the GFI switch ..... until the last and this one was behind some heavy boxes.
Much gracias!!!
Cheers
JB
