GFCI receptacle/switch question/problem

Should a ground fault outlet be used in series with other light switches and outlets or should it be at the end of the circuit? My new GFIC switch has a togle switch and one outlet plug with two black wires coming out the top. I can't seem to get it wired correctly to where the little warning light stays off.

You are not wiring it properly.

It can be used either way. It can provide GFCI protection to it's built in receptacle only, or it can be used to provide feed through GFCI protection to the balance of the circuit. The switch can also be used for the receptacle, the balance of the circuit, or everything.

If you tell us what wires you have and how you are wiring it and what you want it to do, we can help.

Note that I renamed the thread. Your user name as the title won't attract too many readers. I assume this was a mistake on your part.
