some trick for stuffing FMC?

5 x #12 solid THHN in this "reduced wall" aluminum flex conduit, 1/2". I didn't expect this level of effort. using a snake, lube, someone pushing, me pulling, and only 15' of conduit and only 1 real bend, but unsupported in old work. Much more difficult than EMT, as an example.
does this stuff work better when well supported?

Yes, and also much easier with stranded wire instead of solid. The FMC is probably more flexible than 5 solid #12s.
