outside receptacles

Do outside receptacles have to be on their own 20 amp circuit or can I tap them off of an existing 20 amp circuit. I realize they have to be Gfci protected.

No, outside receptacles don't have to be on their own 20amp circuit. Yes you can tap them off an existing 20 amp circuit. I am a novice but I believe this is correct. Correctomundo on the GFI.

Outside receptacles do not need to be on their own circuit and they do not need to be 20 amp.

However, there are certain circuits you are not allowed to tap to power them.
