12' distance between outlets - true distance or wall distance?
So, I have two outlets that are 12' apart if you measured directly between them. However, they are on different walls, and if you measured along the wall, the distance is further than 12'.
If I'm adding outlets to the room anyway, should I add one here? I don't need one here but I don't want the electrical to not follow code.
Thanks,
Chris

And you'd be surprised how broad the definition of wall is.
For instance, the fixed portion of a sliding glass door is wall space. As is a railing, such as in the case of a balcony.
