My apologies

My apologies
This was Roger's post today:
I think we got off on the wrong foot. Apparently I took what Roger said as a personal attack. It was late, I was tired and perhaps a little cranky. I apologize to Roger and anyone else on this site who have felt that I've talked down to them. For the record, I do not think I'm smarter than anyone else on here. I may disagree with others occasionally just like everyone else, but I will try to be more respectful when doing so. I will also try not to react to other people's different opinions defensively in the future.
A little about me:
I took off of work for the summer because I wanted to spend more time with my family. I have a 9 month old daughter that I wanted to spend more time with. I also was a little behind in remodeling the baby's room (we actually had to move late into the pregnancy) so, I needed the time off to get it done.
I'm here for 2 reasons. First, I've gotten a lot of good advice from others online and I wanted to return the favor. Second, I'm here to learn, touch up on my code knowledge, and keep my mind sharp while I'm off of work.
I just want everybody here to know that I have learned a lot from all of you. I appreciate everyone. I apologize if I came off as arrogant or abrasive. Roger, perhaps you helped me learn something about myself. I hope I can start over and we can all be friends.
I was curious because we would get the exception 9 times out of ten around here.
You didn't give an opinion on the countertop receptacle...plus light you gave one on the dishwasher ..plus light....big difference.
BTW... you need to lower your defensive shield a tad. If I have said something that ticked you off in a previous post somewhere let me apologize and lets start over. You keep talking down to people and I can see why you have so many problems. Are you somebody we should know? We are all here to learn and give advice to those who ask. We are not perfect. Your demeaning of inspectors didn't impress me one bit. I think it was totally inappropriate... so climb down off your thrown and join the rest of us poor common folk.

Funny I should come upon this post now.
I am right now taking a break from reciting out loud a Powerpoint presentation I will be helping to deliver next week on Respect In The Workplace.
After 10 years of employment followed by twenty something years of contracting I have taken a "retirement" job as a HVAC/R/Maintenance tech in our local hospital.
In my two years there I am totally blown away by how people are unable to get along and have volunteered to help.
Your apology and understanding of your situation are what we are going to try to get across to our co-workers.
Keep up the good work!
I'm horrified that I have to speak to a large group but if I do this 100 times between now and next Tuesday I may stand a chance of not passing out in front of the group.

Accepted Brewcity and my apologies back. I'm sure there have been times I have came across to others the same but I too just want to learn and share the respect among the professionals here and maybe help out those who post here from time to time. I too need a new approach.
I'm pretty freakin tired a lot and think I have an insomnia problem at times. You are not your real self when your tired.

That was cool to see an apology like that in here or on any forum... I know how I get... beings I am the smartest person on earth too... aren't we all... lol... until I get turned around and see... ohhhhh **** I was wrong... lol It is easy to take what someone else says, when you are tired or annoyed and just yell back or read things the wrong way. But it takes more to apologize.

I think I'm gonna PUKE !!!
For "crying out loud" this is a "do it yourself" site.
Someties you upset/ Disagree with people.
We, (ME) get way too deep. Lets just give the folks what they need.
I've been Banned (PROUDLY), several times for letting others know, They have NO bussiness messing with this stuff.
I will continue to do so. Because... I think the over all safety of the HUMAN is very important (Darwin?).!!!!!
WE (Professionals)All know that code can be met (for a fee).
And we all have done enough to reach the objective( and be SAFE!!!!.
I think to ask these folks to REWIRE their "dwelling units" to meet "CODE" is obsurd.
Obviousley, They don't want to pay, so best we can do is point them in the right direction.

Apology, etc.
A heartwarming thread at the very least.
But, lectriclee.....
" I think to ask these folks to REWIRE their "dwelling units" to meet "CODE" is obsurd."
Not at all. That's exactly what I'm doing. A TOTAL rewire.
Thanks to all of you experts, I've discovered some rather obscure code issues that forced me to go back and modify the original plans/installation.
So when the inspector comes around, he may call me nuts for over-engineering but he won't (hopefully) cite me for any code violations.
Thanks to one and all.
