Box Extenders for Ceiling Box?

Quick question for the group---

I just recently tore down a plaster and lathe ceiling and replaced it with 5/8" drywall, but I now have a small gap between the face of the drywall and the bottom of the ceiling box. I'm planning on adding a tin ceiling, so all in all, I'm looking at a maximum 1/4" gap.

I've seen box extenders for switch boxes and duplex boxes, but I'm not sure if they sell extenders for octagon cieling boxes. The one in question is the standard 4" metal box used in ceings. Can someone let me know if they exist and maybe a link so that I can see what they look like.

Well, when you tore out the ceiling, you probably should have adjusted the box to match the depth of the new ceiling. That would have made the most sense. But it;'s probably too late for that.

A quarter inch is an allowed separation for drywall. However, they do make box extenders in various shapes and sizes.

These should be available at electrical supply houses.
