Wire Clamp Needed for Surface-mount box
I will be surface-mounting a metal work box in the garage. The feed for the box comes into the back of the box and will not be exposed. Question: do I need a wire clamp for the feed?

Yes, you need a standard romex box connector.

I have a similar situation, but with an outdoor box. Do I also use the standard clamp, or is there some waterproof clamp I should be looking for?

For outdoor use, you need UF-B cable and a waterproof UF box connector or THWN conductors in conduit.

The outdoor box is attached directly to my siding. Do you think I still need the UF-B cable?

What are THWN conductors? I am not using conduits because the cable is fed directly from my basement.
