Smile AC/Heat Window unit questions

1) If you get an ac/heat window unit, does it have to be winterized as well? If so, how does the heater part work?

2) If the temp goes below a certain degree, does the heater part not work to heat?

Thanks!

Obviously you couldn't use it if you did "winterize" it if I understand that term. Never actually saw the need to do anything to a window AC in the winter.

A window heat/cool unit is basically a heat pump that pumps heat from the outside in the heat mode. Starting at about 45 degrees there isn't enough heat outside and electrical resistance heaters kick in.
