wiring a switch for 2 light fixtures

This should be a simple connection, but it has me stumped.
There is a switch box with 3 sets of wires entering it. Two of the sets which are 3 wire go to a 3 way switch which is already wired. The only power coming into the box is from one of the 3 wire sets. The fixtures only have 1 set of wires (2 wire) each. But only one of these sets enters the switch box. I have pigtailed the power from the 3 wire into the single switch and attached the black wire from the 2-wire wire to the other connection. But, only one of the fixtures comes on. This is an old house that originally only had one fixture. Another was added on by the contractor, but the connections were never put into the switch box.

Thanks.

What you are describing does not make sense. Start over.

Tell us each switch box and what is in it and how they are connected.

Sounds like you're gonna have to figure out where the non working lights wires go. To/from the working light? Maybe the other switch(3 way )?
