ceiling fan switches

i want to put a ceiling fan in my game room and i want to put a dimmer switch in the first location and 2 other switches at other locations all operating the ceiling fan and the light can i do this ?

Yes, but you will most likely burn out the fan motor. Unless the fan is specifically made for a dimer (most are not) then you can't use a dimmer with it.

ty Bob for the quick reply any suggestions i have a 10 foot ceiling to keep pool sticks out of the fan blades and need to control the fan and light without the chains

Not to butt in on Bob's advice, but you can buy Hunter remote control units that mount in the bell of the fan and operate the light and fan separately without hardwiring the switches, using chains, or burning out the motor or switch.

Many fans come with speed controls, either hand held remotes or wall mount switches designed for the fans. These work fine for speed control.

As for keeping pool cues out of the blades, I have no advice.
