How do I change a light switch to a recetacle
My switch for an outside light has a white wire and a black wire going to poles on it's right side. It only controls the outside wall light. How can I rewire this to change the switch to a double recetacle? Thanks Paul

You have a switch loop. If you still want the switch to operate the light then you must change the cable between the fixture and the switch.
If yo no longer wish to use the switch to operate the fixture then you need to make wiring changes at the fixture when you install the receptacle.

You can add a receptacle but you may not be able to replace the switch with a receptacle.
Section 210.70(A)(2)(b) requires outdoor entrances with grade level access to have outside lighting controlled by a wall switch.
