Question Junction Box for Electric Oven

New electric oven. All the drywall in the area and cabinets are removed. The oven must be direct wired to a junction box with a strain relief clamp. What is the best setup for this j-box, considering that I have get to the cable after the drywall goes up?

Surface mount the box after the drywall goes in? If so attach the j-box to the stud or just anchor it to the drywall if more convenient?

OR Install a box inside the wall, and attach the whip through the face by way of a blank-cover-with-round-knockout?

OR Both like the last guy did for receptacles under my sink. Shallow surface box on the face of a box in the wall.

Whatever you prefer. I would recess the box in the wall.
