Electric Baseboard Heaters Quit.

My Dad's two baseboard heaters stopped working today- two 220v units on the same circuit.

They worked fine until today. He installed a new thermostat, but it didn't help.

The breakers had not tripped, but I reset them anyways - still no go.

I then changed the heaters for two spares I had. Still nothing!

What am I missing?

i am pretty much sure that one of the hot line is open the only way to verify it is get the tester and verify the line to line to get 240v there but if your tester say 0 volt line to line

[ the line typically will be either red/black wire or black/white {remarked } ]

check it at any junction box before heater and other possile but it do happend once a while some heater have " thermal fuse " if get too hot it will kick it open and some thermal fuse is a one time useage so have to replace it but do not bypass the safety feature in there.

start at the breaker to check the 240v there if get it then trace the wire to the first junction box [ useally at the line voltage theromast ] and recheck the voltage there you should get 240 V if working right.

if need more info let us know we can help you more

Merci, Marc
