Exterior motion detector!

I want to put a motion detector on the side of my house. My bedroom has recepteacles on this outside wall where I want to put the light. Can I tap into one of these receptacles for the light? If it is a middle of the run, how do I go about doing so? This is a manufactured home. They don't even have boxes in the walls. How is it they don't have to do stuff that is "code"?

I assure you, what they have in place is to code. However, I do not know if those receptacles can be tapped, or how you would do it.

Can't I just install a remodel box and then tap into one? I installed a dimmer switch in my kitchen and used a remodel box just because I figured I would while I had the factory one out.

Manufactured or "Prefab" homes often use "Crimp-On" outlets and receptacles.
Short of cuttting them off of the cable ( Which often leaves the cable too short to be useful) , There is no way to "TAP" them.

A Remodel or "OLD WORK" box would be the way to go ..provided you can find enough slack in a cable.
