Unhappy Re-wired lamp which blew out GFC

HI,everyone
I rewired a lamp. Turned it on in one of my GFC outlets. This GFC was connected to 8 outlets in my kitchen/ DR. Well, I did not wire the lamp right because it blew my GFC. Knowing to remove the GFC outlet and be careful which wire went where..I replaced the GFC. It has a green indicator on it which is on yet will not allow me to test teh GFC nor are the other outlets working. Any help is very appreciated.

I think you mean a GFCI, Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter.

If a GFCI receptacle will not reset then it is not wired properly. Make sure that you connect the power wires to the LINE terminals. Connect nothing else until you make sure that you have the power wires correctly connected. Then connect the other wire(s) to the LOAD terminals.

Are yousure the breaker is not tripped? GFCI won't reset if there is no power to it.
