Help... Can U plz help wall switch to a new outlet conversion

I need to install a new separate GFCI outlet in crawl space for sump pump tapping in a) ground level wall switch or
b)existing ground wall outlet. I think I can "fishing" through ground wall outlet without rmowing small square hole in wallboard and drilling another 3/4 hole for feeding 14-3 romex down though it. But I completely forgot how wiring goes for option "a" from wall switch. Pls advise, thx and Happy Holidays. Tim

New topic needs a new post.

Run a brand new dedicated circuit for the sump pump. Do not attempt to attach to an existing circuit.

As for your questions. You would use 14-2 cable for a 15 amp circuit and 12-2 cable for a 20 amp circuit. Using 14-3 (or 12-3) would be a waste of money.

Attempting to attach to a switch may or may not work. It would only work if power runs through the box. If it is a switch loop the you don't have full power there.
