question regarding voltage drop

Should voltage drop be figured in from the pole? If a garage is, lets say 200 feet from the main panel, but the main panel is 200 feet from the pole, than should you calculate voltage drop over 400 feet?

No. You only figure voltage drop from the main panel. In theory the power company cranks the voltage enough at the pole to provide the right voltage to your panel.
