Jaccuzi Problems

Have a recently installed jacuzzi tub... when the pump kicks on it runs for 5 seconds or so and then the thermal protection kicks it off. The motor gets hot to the touch. Leads me to believe its a power issue. It looks to be installed with 14gauge wire and is on a 60 amp breaker... is it possible that its got too much power at the gfci?

14 gage wire on a 60 amp breaker is a fire hazard. Either you are looking at something wrong or you have a real problem.

I suggest that you start at the beginning.

If it's true that you have #14 and a 60A breaker, then the wire is much too small and whoever installed this unit was incompetent. Take a closer look at exactly what you have and report back. Look for wire colors, gauge, conduits, breakers, etc. Start at the panel and tell us everything between there and the tub motor.

Some pictures would also be helpful.

Try and get one with the firemen if possible.
