20 watt Florescent light

Have a 20 watt florescent light over the kitchen sink and when I turn it on at the wall switch, many times the ends will glow and I have to flick the switch on and off again to make it light. Put a new tube in and it does the same thing. What might be causing this, some type of interference or reverse wiring?

More than likely it's the ballast or starter.

if this is a older style of flourscent luminaire some have starter on one end right below of the tube right next to the tombstone [ flourscent bulb holder ] it will be a siverlike or white in colour and it will be roughly 3/4 inch diam if not there then it will be on the side of luminaire channel.

If not found pretty rare but it do have starter inside of it otherwise the ballast is shot.

a quick side note here some have trigger start they are little diffrent than old style preheat and what you may have sometime have to wiggle it a little to get good concat there

Merci,Marc
