slight flicker

In my dining room I notice that every now and again the light slightly flickers nothing too extreme. The light however is on a dimmer switch. My first question is, does this happen with dimmer switches? I checked just before when it did it and the light or the dimmer was not at it's fullest power, it was just slight of the lights being at it's complete brightness. Now I don't know on the other occassions if it flickers when at it's fullest. Also none of the other lights flicker when this happens. I also checked to see what was running on that breaker, at the time it just did it a few minutes ago the only thing on the breaker that was on was that light and the oven (natural gas stove). Can someone give me insight on what this might be and what to look for. Again if it is just something dimmers do then I guess I won't worry about it.

Thanks

Brian

Anything that Flickers, sparks or spits , is not "NORMAL".

I would blame the dimmer. Possibly a "Flat Spot' in the slider?
