Extension Query

I have a 210 amp welder with a Nema 6-50 plug and 10'-12awg cord and want to make a 25' extension cord for it. Do I need to "up" a gauge or two - 10/3, 8/3? TIA

did the welder come with the 10' #12 cord? we need to know how many amps your welder is rated at. if #12 is the appropriate size cord you won't need to up it to go 15 more feet.

Yes the welder came w/ that 10' #12 and 6/50 plug. The welder is 30amps at rated output. (25' cord)

your probably going to want to upgrade to a #10 cord anyway, #12 is only good for 20 amps.
