Built-in Oven Junction Box

Built-in Oven Junction Box
Let me see if I can explain this, since I have a hard time explaining it to the Home Depot Guy.
I have 8/3 wire on a 40amp breaker that will be running from the Breaker panel to the kitchen for a built-in oven. I want to connect the flexible conduit from the oven to a square box extension box (seems to correct way to install flexible consuit to a wall). The problem I am having is finding a box that will mount flush with the wall and allow the square box extension box to mount flush with that.
I have found some square boxes that will mount flush, but have no mounting brackets. Also, the ones designed for Washer and Dryer Connection (that have 240v inlet connection) won't allow the Extension Boxes to mount to it.
Any other advice on how I can connect the flexible conuit from the oven would be great. Both Home Depot personal where suggesting to use a plug, but how would I connect a plug to a flexible conduit and I don't think code would allow it?

The oven will have a recess in the back so using a 4" square x 1 1/2" deep box with cable strain reliefs and bx connector for your flex and cover plate should work just fine. I usually mount them on the back wall using screws. The oven will slide in and the frame will miss the box. No need for a plug, as that would add to the backset. Hope that is what you were looking for.

That was my first idea, but could never locate a metal cover with a knock out at any home depot. Can I drill a hole and use an elbow?

Would I run the wire thru the Sheetrock then mount the box?
I was thinking that I would need a box behind the wall prior to mounting the box.

Most 4X4 flush cover with standard 1/2 KO [ really it is 7/8inch hole ] is standard in most place but however you can bore it bigger or stop by one of the electrical supply centre and ask for 3/4 ko blank cover i am sure they may have this on stock item.
due most big box store and majorty of hardware store only stock 1/2 inch KO blank cover not the 3/4 KO size.
[ i will come back later if i get the time and give you the correct part number ]
Merci, Marc

I didn't even think of stopping by a Ace Hardware and see what they stock.

I just went thru my listing not too long ago and i comfirmed what i am supecting and there is no 3/4 KO on stock item however if you have to use the 3/4 KO you have to bore it bigger or ask one of the electrician they can bore it out for ya with their unibit for small fee or free i don't know what they will charge for it.
for myself i used the KO punch for it due i am electrician and i go thru alot of them but most 4X4 box cover is typically 1/2 inch size but not very often i do see in 3/4 size but i do punch them bigger if i have to.

Install the box surface mounted (come in the back with your feed) behind the drawer underneath the oven.
The whip from the oven should be long enough to reach.
Use a flex connector to come in to one of the KOs.
How accessible is a box mounted in the recess behind the oven?

you have the right idea there but however you have to bring the box out more to make sure the box cover is flush with surface of wood paneling this is very specfic in the NEC
you can shim it out half inch out then you are fine with it.

No problem. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. I have been working on this kitchen for 2 years now and the more I read the NEC the more questions I have.
I have always assumed that Electricians had it easy, but after all the reasearch, work, and rework I have done I can see they earn there money.
