Bathroom Wiring Questions
Hi all,
I am sure many (if not all) of these questions have been answered before. I am updating my second floor bathroom and plan to rewire it. It currently has no light switch, no overhead light or exhaust fan and is wired with the old armored cable above the sink. I plan on running a dedicated circuit to this bathroom. Here are my questions:
1. Can I run the 12/2 wire up the chimney chase into the attic?
2. What is the best circuit plan for this? All i want is a light switch combo (one for the light and one for the fan) at the entrance to the bathroom, and a GFI outlet and light switch at the sink for a vanity light and outlet.
I want to do as little destruction to the walls of the bathroom because we have 1930's subway tile that i want to save, so is there anything i need to know if I run the wire from one receptacle through the attic to the next receptacle (as far as code goes)?
Thanks

however let get back to the topic reall quick you can have two gang old work box one with duplex toggle or duplex rocker swtich and a single pole switch [ one for fan , one for ceiling luminaire , one for vanity luminaire. but get a seprated box for the GFCI recpectale.

there is a roto-zip that can cut into the tile just get the proper bit for it
As Marc mentioned, I would Highly suggest some type of respiratory protection, as the dust "Storm " is a bit intense.

Hi, you might want to consider haveing the fan switch be a 15 minute timer switch. This would shut off on it's own and save a lot of time doing laps on the stairs. Just a thot.
