wall insulation and old wires

In an old house (1935) with a bit of knob and tube remaining, is it safe to blow fiberglass insulation into the walls? Would doing so increase the risk of fire?

you need to rewire before insulating.

Knob and tube wiring cannot be covered with any insulating materials. The K&T needs to be replaced before any insulation can be installed.

Definitely re-wire before insulating. My neighbor's house caught fire because of this exact situation. Only it was attic insulation covering KT, not in-wall.
