Refrigerator Wiring

I have done some searches and found nothing that matches my situation exactly so here goes. . .

My house is about 3 years old and I have recently mounted a 19" tv in a small breakfast area. In order to make sure that I was happy with it's placement, I held off on running power to the location so I plugged in the tv/cable box in an outlet on an adjacent knee wall that separates the kitchen and the family room.

I investigated the wiring this weekend and found that the the outlet I am using (and was hoping to tap into), is wired on the same circuit as the refrigerator. So now I have a few questions:
1. Is this acceptable from a wiring perspective? I'd like to believe that if it somehow goes against code it wouldn't have passed inspection.
2. Can I still entertain tapping into this circuit? I have, essentially, been doing this all along simply by using the outlet?
Eventually, I want to put the refrigerator on a dedicated circuit but I'd prefer to do that at a later date when I have a few jobs for my electrician to work on.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts/suggestions.

I think it's okay code-wise, because the receptacle which powers the fridge is part of the kitchen's small appliance branch circuits which are only allowed to power receptacles in the kitchen, dining or pantry areas. Since your TV is technically in the dining area, it can be on the SABC.

There can be some trouble with putting a TV on the same circuit as a motor though. The fridge motor can cause static and snow or popping in the TV signal.
