Question Main home circuit breaker question

I have an electrical panel in my home that has the main circuit breaker on top. The switch on the breaker has 100 written on each end of it. Does this mean I have a 200 am service?

No, it is only a 100 amp breaker but it is a 2 pole breaker. It is a common misconception that a 2 pole whatever breaker is actually the two ratings added together, it isn't. Each of those poles will allow 100 amps. They are not additive.
