Running Wire around a corner

I want to run a wire from a wall switch to a new ceiling outlet.

Any tips on how to turn the corner from wall to ceiling without cutting the drywall (or using the least cuts)?

Is this an inside wall or an exterior wall? Do you have access above the switch location?

What wires are at the switch? You may have a switch loop that would require you to get power elsewhere.

Glad you asked. Inside wall and first floor room (no attic access), if that's what you mean by access from above.

I know about the power loop from other forum posts

I'm no expert but I suspect the only way is to cut the drywall on both the top of the wall and end of the ceiling. It's pretty easy to replace. Hopefully the ceiling joists are parallel with the wire run, making it easy to fish the wire to the fixture.
Feel fortunate you aren't working with lath and plaster

You could try to drill the top plate with a diversa-bit and complete the fish through the hole for the recessed.

Caveat: sometimes those bits have a mind of their own and can come out in unexpected places.
