We had a strom and my power went off. I cannot reset one of my receptacles. I push the reset botton and it will not say in. Can you tell me what's the problem.

Some of the GFCI devices are very senstive to the power surge and knock them out of commison before you do that turn off the breaker for that circuit.

Then remove but do not disconnect the wire at the moment if you have voltmeter or test light turn the breaker on and check the line connection to verify that you got power on incomming [ line ] side by check the Hot and Netural if you have power then the GFCI is allready " R.I.P. "

To replace it before you disconnect the wire make a note which side is line and load connection a quick side note if you have the line and load connected backward it will not come on at all.

before you do anything which circuit is the GFCI is affecting the bathroom or garage or kitchen circuit ??
