start generator automatically
Does anyone know I could get a gas generator to start automatically if a water pump needs to start.
Basically, once the pressure water tank goes below 20psi, the pump need kicks in.

Do you have the generator? Does it have electric start?
If so someone knowledgeable could make up a circuit that would work but there is no easy way to do it and it is beyond the scope of this forum I would suspect.
Would this just be in a power fail situation or is this in a non powered location?

If the generator load only feed for water pump then yes the pressure switc will work as Rick describing but however there one warning I want to pass to you to make sure you are aware of starting current is very hard on generator unless you get at least 5 KW or larger so it will handle the surge load.
You will need a transfer swtich so it will change from normal power to generator power and also you will need to add a disconnect switch { so that way when you need to work on the waterpump for some reason so it will not start the generator unneeded, }
How big the water pump sizewise ??
Merci,Marc
