electric stove/oven

what size breaker is required for an electric stove/oven 30 40 or 50 amp.....and what size wire is needenfor the stove/oven...Thanks

It depends on the stove. What does the manufacturer say? I just installed one that was 220 Volts, 30 Amps and it use 10 gauge wire.

You need to run the circuit sized called for by the manufacturer. Typically for a range/oven this is a 40 amp circuit with #8 copper or a 50 amp circuit with #6 copper.

You will need 2 hots, 1 neutral and 1 ground and a 4 wire receptacle. The receptacle can be either flush or surface mount.

If you are in the planning stages get the cut sheet which will show where the receptacle can be located so that it does not interfere with the back of the range.
