Making a reversable fan control?

Making a reversable fan control?
I have mounted 4 ceiling fans on the beams that make up the roof support in a glass enclosed swimming pool room. I purchased outdoor fans for this and they do not have a switch for reversing the direction. The home owner wanted to be able to reverse the direction of the fans in the summer to pull hot air out of the roof the has panels that open, but be able to use them in a downward flow in the winter. We are in northern Illinois, and it gets pretty cold.
Now that I have mounted them, and have run all the wiring, I need to find a way to accomplish reversablilty without removing the fans (their 30 feet up). I was thinking of a switch that would reverse the polarity, in place of the varialble speed fan control that I currently have in place. I bought a fan control that has reversability, but will not work unless it's an industrial fan, with the appropriate wiring.
I am not an expert, which is why I'm posting this. I'm hoping that somebody can help, before this costs me too much money and time to redo the whole thing.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Did you look at any of the receivers and remotes for fans? Hunter may have a universal remote you make be able to fit in the canopy.
