remote controlled light

I would like to mount a light on the outside of my garage and control it from inside by a remote control.Seems easier than digging a ditch.Anyone know of a reliable product?

If you mean you already have power at the garage, but don't want to further run wiring to the house, consider X10 control ot its modern equivalents.

SmartHome has a bunch of X-10 home automation devices that will do what you want. Lutron also makes Maestro dimmers which can be controlled with IR remotes and RF remotes.

If you're controlling a standard incandescent bulb (resistive load), then most any of these products will work. Some of them will not work correctly with inductive loads like fluorescent or bright security light (mercury, sodium, MH, etc). Check the specs of the controller for load type before you buy.

Most garage door opener controls can do that. If your garage door opener remote transmitter has more than one button, then check for accessories from your GDO manufacturer.
