3 way switch confusion

3 way switch confusion
here is my scenario....I'm trying to wire 2 3 way switch's for a spotlight....My first switch is in my dinning roomwerethefeed comes into a 2 gang switch box (*it also feeds two lights on the deck)from this box i have a 12--2 going up to the spotlight and a 12-3 going down to the garage for the other switch...I know i need to connect the white coming down from the light to the feed nuetral then i get confused....all the books I read never show the power coming into the middele switch....thanks for your help....

There are many, many different ways to wire a pair of 3-way switches controlling a light, but yours is not one of them.
But then you mentioned "middle switch". That confused me. How many switches do you have to control this one light?
Let me use "=" to mean a 12/3 cable, and "-" to mean a 12/2 cable. Here are two of the more common cable routings:
P-S1=L=S1.
P-S1=S2-L.
But it sounds like you have this:
P-S1-L=S2.
That's not possible.
