30 amp rv outlet

I have a existing 50 amp box on the outside of my house that was used for my spa, it has 6 guage wire running to it.
I bought a 30 amp RV outlet that i want to install there and the 6 guage wire is to large for the outlet. Can i reduce the wire to a 10 gauge and what is the best way to do that??

You can reduce the wire to #10 using large blue wirenuts. Be sure to change the breaker down to a 30A too.
