Hello there. This is my first post. I'm working on finishing what was until a couple of weeks ago, my entirely unfinished basement. The wiring in the basement was minimal. I am installing recessed lighting (2 lights) in a hallway with a 3-way switch on each end. These are the only lights on the circuit. Here's the problem, the switches have to be in opposite positions to turn the lights off. Now, in the back of my brain is a little demon saying "just flip one switch upside down in the box (common terminal on the bottom) and it will be all right. However, my better side is telling me that would be the "wrong" way to do it. Can you take a look at the diagram they provided and let me know if you think the diagram is screwed up, or did I do something wrong and just can't find my mistake? Thanks.

Tenant called today and said there was a problem with the breaker box, constantly tripping. Went down and noticed right off the bat that there were space heaters in every room. Pulled the cover of the box and noticed main breaker was melted down and there had been a small fire in the box. Well $700 bucks later I have a new panel installed. My question is do you think the failure of this box has to do with the space heaters and constant resetting of the breaker?
