Breaker question

Panel box has a breaker for the air conditioning/heating coil (the air conditoners down south are air and heat) Air has always worked just fine and the heat generally works just fine but every so often the breaker will click not providing current. Always click it back and it will work fine for week afer week and then it will click again. Being that both air and heat have always worked and there has never been anything to indicate a problem with the unit, someone said that most likely it could be a weak breaker, that breakers do weaken and can wear out. These breakers have had to be hear for twenty five years. Any truth to this?

You might want to check the amp load while its in operation. It could be breaker going bad or bad connections. Too much load or to close. Best to check it or have it checked while its in operation.
