Does anyone knows if the 1 1/4 requirement applies to fished wire through fire stop.
Thank you

Yes, you do need to keep it 1 1/4" away from the face.

"300.4 (A)(1) (2005) In both exposed and concealed locations, where cable or raceway type wiring method is installed through bored holes in joists, rafters, or wood members, holes shall be boarded so that the edge of the hole is not less than 1 1/4" from the nearest edge of the wood member."

You can sleeve and protect the cable with some rigid PVC or EMT. (exception 1)

rigid pvc is acceptable? I'll have to look. If it is, it is a bad idea. Dang, Ive got rockers running screws through emt sometimes.

metal plates (nail plates) are my choice of protection.

My code book says PVC is ok. I agree nail plates are the best but would be rather tough to install to a framing member that is behind sheetrock.

Thanks for reply, I opted to err on the side of caution and open up some holes on the wall near the stoper, all the holes are dead center!
Regards

Fished wire? Did somebody remove the exception for wire fished through finished spaces?
