could use some wiring help with my new light/fan

I just picked up a new ceiling fan/light for my LR. I have a 12/2 power wire running directly to it. From there I have a 12/3 wire to what will be my switch box. I want to have two switches, one for the light, and one for the fan. The ceiling fan has 4 wires (black, white, green, blue). How do I wire this up at both the light/fan itself and how do I hook up the two switches to give me what I need? I assume I need a pair of 3 way switches?

You only need two single pole switches, not 3-ways.

On your fan black is the fan and the blue is the light.

Since your hot is at the fan here's what you do:

In the fan box:
Tape the white black of the 12/3 and hook to the black 12/2 coming into the box.
Hook the 12/3 red to your blue on the fan.
Hook the 12/3 black to the black of the fan.
Hook the 12/2 white to the white of the fan.

In the switch box (only 12/3 in the box):
Tape the white with black tape.
Hook the red to one switch.
Hook the black to the other switch.
Hook the white taped black to both switches, You may want to splice some pigtails to make it easier to wire.

Grounds (bare and green) all get spliced and connected where required.
